A Guide To The National Capital of India, The Glorious Delhi

There are a couple of stories behind the origin of the name of Delhi. According to a theory, the name originated from the Persian word ‘Dhillu’ or ‘Dilu’, or is a distortion of the Hindi word dehleez, meaning the ‘gateway’. Delhi is an independent entity, have its own legislature, high court and an administrative convention of ministers headed by a Chief Minister. It is surrounded by Uttar Pradesh from three sides and Haryana on the east.

History of Delhi:
Delhi has an affluent chronological milieu. What is Delhi today happened to be Indraprastha of Mahabharat era. Food at Delhi is also influenced by multiple ethnicities of Delhi. Delhiites are a big foodie. Food is the point where everything melts away between a Delhiite and food. Several national and international cuisines are available and are relished here. Popular spicy Punjabi dish Chhole Bhature, Rajma-Chawal, Aaloo-paratha, and Butter Chicken to the creamy lassi to the sweets and desserts the list of varieties never end.

Delhi’s street food, especially chaat, Chhole-kulche, Aaloo-Tikki, and Biryani gives another reason to visit Delhi.
