Under the holy superintendence of Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj the Peshwai Procession with enchanting saints started off from the Shankaracharya Ashram at Alopi Bagh on Tuesday. One of the biggest attractions of the holy procession was the massive number of beautifully carved gold and silver Chariots which were placed on the tractors and trolley. The enchantments of “Har Har Mahadev” roared across the streets and the saints and the “sadhu’s” delighted in the name of the Lord Mahadev.
One of the major aspects of this luxuriant recital of rituals was the chariots that were decorated with the portraits and pictures of Kashi Sumeru Pithadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Swami Narendranand Saraswati, and of the former Shankaracharya of Jyothishapitha, the tableau of Thakurji and Radhakrishna were the center of attraction. The rally was welcomed throughout on its way from Shankaracharaya Ashram flowers and people bowing to it.
Earlier, on Tuesday morning, “the flag of Dharma” of the Shri Panchayati Udhasin Akhara was hoisted. “Dharama flag” was placed upright with idols of Lord Shri Ram Chandra. The idol was worshipped with incense, earthen lamps, Nevaghya and a Havan was arranged for nine planets to move in the division.
The Peshwai Procession was carried on the following routes
At 12 noon, Peshwas started from the Shankaracharya Ashram located in Alopi Baga. Earlier, to this worship of Lord Blolenath was done. From Peshwai Chungi Naka, Jawahar Chauraha to Odi Fort Chauraha, from Triveni Marg, Shriram Janaki Temple, and all the way to forward to the Gang, reached Gangapur Sangam Lower intersection. From there, on the left Mori road crossing, Shastri crossed the bridge and reached the camp in Sant Kumbh Mela area. According to tradition, officers of the fair administration welcomed Mahamandaleshwar, Mandaleshwar and Saints.
These Akhara settled in the fair area
On Monday, the Peshwas of three-aani Akhara’s (Digambar, Nirmohi and Nirvani) were welcomed and chauffeured to settle in the Kumbh Mela. Earlier, the Peshwas of Kinnar Akhara, Ananda Akhara, Shri Shambhu Panchadashnam Akhara, Niranjani Akhara, Juna Akhara have been proceeded. All these akharas have been established in the fair area.
